Golf: There are several golf courses in the Puerto Vallarta area that offer fun and challenging venues for amateurs and professionals alike. El Tigre Golf Club in Nuevo Vallarta, Vista Vallarta (both the Jack Nicklaus and Tom Weiskopf courses) 5 km inland from the marina, Four Seasons Golf Course at Punta Mita, Mayan Palace Golf Club in Nuevo Vallarta, Los Flamingos Country Club in Bucerias, El Tamarindo Golf Course in Costa Alegre, and the Marina Vallarta Golf Club. World-famous designers such as Tom Weiskopf, Jack Nicklaus, Robert Von Hagge, and others have created these resorts. The stunning scenery and beauty of Puerto Vallarta courses rival that of courses anywhere in the world. The courses closest to the Villa del Mar are the Vista Vallarta and Marina Vallarta Golf Club.
Activities Team: The activities team facilitates several pool and beach activities. The freeform activities pool is the perfect venue for water volleyball and all kinds of water fun. You may also schedule a wide variety of offsite activities and tours through the hotel concierge.
Tennis: There are two complimentary tennis courts available for the guests of Villa del Palmar for day or evening play. A Tennis Pro is also available on request through the Fitness Center.
Internet: Located within the Palmita Deli, the Cyber Cafe provides everything you need to keep connected with the internet using modern computers utilizing high-speed DSL lines. Purchase a one-time connection, or a convenient time card where you can come in and log on anytime you need. The Cyber Cafe also provides photocopy and fax services.
Pools: There is one pool at the Villa del Mar; there are two pools at Villa del Palmar. The first is a freeform activities pool having a waterslide and lots of activities going on, such as water volleyball. There are also shallow children's pools on the edges of this main activities pool. The second is a quiet freeform pool with a sunbathing island. Complimentary lounge chairs and sun umbrellas are provided all throughout the pool areas.
Water Sports: Water sports are accessible through the sister resort of Villa del Palmar, whose beach area is clean and the surf is gentle. For the first hour, use of boogie boards, kayaks, snorkeling gear, windsurfers, and pedal boats is complimentary. Consult the resort concierge to make arrangements to enjoy motorized water sports, such as jet skiing, windsurfing, fishing and parasailing, and the myriad of other activities through Puerto Vallarta.
Diving and Snorkeling: Puerto Vallarta has so many places to dive and snorkel. Divers enjoy an exceptional opportunity to explore Banderas Bay, marine national parks, and secluded beaches. The bay is home to turtles and an abundance of tropical fish of many kinds. There are many hidden coves along the rim of the bay, with several sites that are safe for snorkeling and first time diving. Amateurs and experienced divers will find plenty of challenges equal to their skill levels. Los Arcos, located just off Playa Mismaloya, is a notable underwater marine nature preserve. Waters are warm and clear all year.

There is also an on-site supermarket with an excellent selection of groceries, sundries, magazines, and beverages. In addition, there are shopping venues such as supermarkets, pizzerias, malls, etc. throughout the Puerto Vallarta region. Enjoy a complete shopping experience when you visit downtown Puerto Vallarta and shop the many stores along the Malecon and throughout the downtown. Vallarta has a little something for everyone! From eclectic shops to designer boutiques selling fine jewelry, beautiful silver, designer dresses, and home decor to shopping centers like the Paradise Plaza with over 100 commercial spaces with well-stocked supermarkets, restaurants, banks, clinics, and a fantastic disco. Stroll the cobblestone streets of downtown Vallarta with its clusters of unique shops. Whether you're looking for books, pewter, furniture, ceramics, original art, paintings, clothing and swimwear, Mexican handicrafts, hammocks, gifts and souvenirs, leather products, or something completely one-of-a-kind, you'll find it.
Entertainment: At the Villa del Palmar there is live entertainment nightly with dinner and theme shows including Mexican Fiesta, International Dance, Caribbean Night, Casino Night, and others. Shows may vary according to season and are dependent on weather conditions.
Exploration and Site Seeing: There's a lot to see and experience in Puerto Vallarta. Start with a walking tour of the city along the Malecon, a waterfront promenade featuring fine restaurants, cafes, and public art exhibits. Boat tours on the Banderas Bay.
